Rolls-Royce Motor Cars (
www.rolls-roycemotorcars.com) has announced that its new technology and logistics centre in West Sussex is on course to open early next year.
The 320,000sq ft centre is located on the Oldlands Farm Business Park on the northern edge of Bognor Regis, eight miles from the luxury car maker’s headquarters in Goodwood.
To celebrate the news, a new Rolls-Royce Wraith drove onto the construction site, marking the first time that one of the super-luxury manufacturer’s motor cars had been present at the new facility.
The new centre will provide logistics support to the company’s manufacturing plant and head office for current and future models and will consolidate three current operations: an inbound warehouse for production parts, a distribution centre and a workshop.
Chief executive Torsten Müller-Ötvös said: “The construction of our technology and logistics centre is well underway and on track. This considerable investment reflects the on-going success of our business and demonstrates our full commitment to building our future here in West Sussex.
“Rolls-Royce Motor Cars makes a significant positive impact on the local economy, and our business is a British luxury manufacturing success.”
“Rolls-Royce Motor Cars recently announced that it will produce a new drop-head tourer in 2016. It has also confirmed the development of a high-bodied car “with an all-new aluminium architecture that can cross any terrain”.
