Wednesbury-based Hydron Protective Coatings is looking to increase its sales by 20% after raising its on-line profile thanks to support from the Optimising Business Technology (OBT) programme.
After improving its Web site content (
www.hydronpc.co.uk) and implementing a number of Search Engine Optimisation techniques, the company has started to receive enquiries from new customers looking to take advantage of its wide range of floor paints and anti-graffiti and fire-protection coatings.
Company director Oli Meanley said: “We’re a manufacturer first and foremost, and we have a wide range of industry-leading products.
However, we sometimes need to shout a bit louder about what we do, such as high-profile projects like London 2012, multi-million-pound regeneration projects and National Trust properties such as Dudmaston Estate.
Our Web site is a fantastic way of getting these stories out there and showcasing the full extent of our products to a global audience.
“As an SME, we don’t have an IT department or even an IT expert, so we have had to look for external support to help us with our digital marketing. This is why we took advantage of the OBT programme, attending some free events and then tapping into 15hr of consultancy.”
The £500,000 OBT programme is free to eligible businesses and has funding left to help hundreds of local firms between now and July through a mix of seminars, best-practice sharing workshops and one-to-one diagnostics and support.
It has been designed to show companies from all sectors the advantages of adopting IT systems that are suited to their business, as well as identifying the benefits of switching to super-fast broad-band.
