In 2012, the National Physical Laboratory moved into a purpose-built facility in the 3M Buckley Innovation Centre at Huddersfield University, where it focuses on providing measurement services to industry and forging research links with the university.
Hexagon Metrology (

One of these is a DEA Global Silver 7.10.7 Performance CMM, which has been used to improve the measurement accuracy of a precision component for Halifax Fan Ltd (pictured); the other is an Optiv Classic CMM that has been used to help Wakefield-based TEi to check the integrity of a stainless-steel bolt.
NPL Huddersfield laboratory manager Andy Morris says: “Hexagon Metrology is a trusted supplier, whose equipment can be relied upon. It is a company that is not only extremely supportive of the NPL’s objectives but also shares our passion for assisting manufacturers in this region.”
