The new Rota FSW quick-change chuck system from Schunk Intec Ltd, Newport Pagnell (www.gb.schunk.com), features patented technology that allows chucks to be changed in less than 5min via a single clamping screw.

Schunk’s adapter allows the lathe’s drawbar to connect with the rotary chuck, which is accurately centred by the company’s patented taper mechanism. The power-jaw stroke provides a substantial pull-in force that ensures accurate location and a rigid self-locking connection.

This quick-change system can be retrofitted to most lathes and is suitable for use with manual chucks and power chucks; and due to the unit’s low height, there are few restrictions regarding installation space. Rota FSW is available in three sizes for chuck diameters of 215-260mm, 315-400mm and 400-630mm.
