FC laser invests in machinesDerbyshire-based FC Laser Ltd (www.fclaser.co.uk) has added two new Bystronic CO2 lasers and one Bystronic Fibre Laser to its portfolio.

The company has customers in a wide range of sectors; it is now better placed to meet the exacting demands of those who require parts in extremely short lead times. It also offers a folding service, plus welding and drilling operations.

These additional services have enabled the company to launch five new apprentice schemes — in partnership with Learning Unlimited and Training Services — in order to nurture and develop the skill and talent of students in metal-working and drawing, as well as administration.

Sales manager Steve Connolly says: “We have worked closely with Learning Unlimited and Training Services to ensure that our apprentice schemes offer an exciting and comprehensive training package that also meets our business requirements.”

Mr Connolly became sales manager in January, and there have been some other appointments. Richard Armstrong and Andy Paterson have both been given the new role of shift quality manager (working closely with production manger Paul Brudenell); and Aaron Cotterill has been appointed to the role of goods-in and despatch manager.
