Swaffham-based STG Aerospace (
www.stgaerospace.com), which makes aircraft lighting, has strengthened its presence with the opening of a second manufacturing plant in Miami.
This facility, which is near Miami International Airport, has been set up to meet the increasing demand for its products from the US market. STG Aerospace launched a subsidiary company in Shanghai earlier this year.
Nigel Duncan, the company’s chief executive, said: “The Americas are a key market, and it’s particularly gratifying for us that our investment in a new facility was driven by customer demand. Increasing the size of our manufacturing and warehousing operations in the USA will allow us to better serve both existing and new customers throughout the region.”
The USA has been a key part of STG Aerospace’s business since the firm set up a manufacturing site in Miami 20 years ago. The decision to initiate a presence in China was a result of the company wanting to capitalise on the country’s growing dominance in the aviation sector (China is forecast to overtake the USA as the largest aircraft passenger market in the world).
