Brose UK sees profits and turnover increaseBrose UK (www.brose.com), which manufactures vehicle door systems, lift gates, seat structures and electric drives for car makers such as Jaguar Land Rover, has reported an increase in its turnover and profits.

In the 12 months to 31 December, the Coventry-based firm saw turnover increase to £153.8 million (from £117.8 million the previous year) and profit before tax grow to £4.92 million (from £2.57 million).

Managing director Juergen Zahl said: “We are pleased with the strong performance for the last financial year, which highlights our ability to capitalise on significant growth in the UK automotive sector.

Coventry is a strategically important plant for the Brose Group, and the staff here have worked tirelessly to support new product introductions and successfully manage volume increases from our customers, including Jaguar Land Rover, Nissan and Toyota.

“We are also in the midst of a major expansion programme announced earlier this year. This will see us build a new 11,400sq m facility on brown-field land adjacent to our existing plant in Exhall; it will be responsible for delivering lightweight seat structures directly to three car makers in the UK.

Backed by the Regional Growth Fund, we are investing nearly £35 million in this project and will create 372 new jobs directly, plus a further 74 in the supply chain.”
