US-based Taser International (
www.uk.taser.co), which makes electrical weapons, body cameras and digital evidence management products for police forces, has bought Daventry-based Tactical Safety Responses Ltd (TSR) and will re-name it Axon Public Safety UK as soon as “all ppropriate contracts have been transitioned to the new entity”.
The company’s service and support division will remain in Daventry, while its technology and sales divisions will move to London.
Taser chief executive and founder Rick Smith said: “This is all about getting closer to our customers. We are decreasing the communication distance from our customers to our product developers and support teams, some of which will be moving.
Beyond offering heightened support, we will now be positioned to better develop UK customer-driven solutions, from nation-wide data management systems to UK-specific use-of-force reporting. In preparation for this acquisition and our expanded footprint, we have added to our sales staff, customer support and field engineers.”
