New from Esab Cutting Systems (
www.esab.com) is the m2-200 plasma system for heavy-duty mechanised cutting.
This system, which can cut a broad range of material types and thicknesses using air, oxygen or nitrogen gases, offers high-productivity piercing and cutting in mild steel up to 38mm thick; it can also edge-start and cut materials up to 50mm thick.
When compared to oxy-fuel, Esab’s m2-200 is more than four-times faster on 12mm mild steel. Moreover, the m2-200 system provides a high-quality cut with minimal dross, reduced warping and a small heat-affected zone; and with a 100% duty cycle at 200A, the system can undertake demanding production requirements.
Ease of use is ensured by a built-in process database with optimised cutting parameters that ensure consistent cutting results, while advanced diagnostics simplify troubleshooting and maintenance.
Furthermore, the system has been designed to be quick and easy to install, while reliable performance across a wide range of industrial applications is ensured by the use of a proven power supply and a heavy-duty fluid-cooled cutting torch.
The m2-200 replaces Esab’s mechanised ESP-150 and ESP-200 systems. ESP-150 packages with hand torches and in-line torches remain available for non-automated cutting applications.
