Samuel Taylor Ltd (STL) — the Redditch-based precious-metal contacts and precision metal-pressings specialist (
www.samueltaylor.co.uk) — is to acquire a new multi-slide press to increase its production capacity for terminal blocks and circuit breaker components.
The firm, which is more than 100 years old and is still family-owned, says that this £250,000 investment will permit production during the evenings and weekends.
Sales manager Carl Siviter said: “The business has made steady investments in its history to ensure that we remain globally competitive, and we continue on this proven path.
“Most of STL’s current turnover is non-automotive-based, but this year sees the start of a project to achieve TS16949 accreditation, both to penetrate automotive markets and to generate efficiencies in the business.
“We plan to have TS accreditation in place in the first quarter of 2016. Meanwhile, ISO 9001:2008 accreditation is already in place.”
