Liam Dale, national sales executive at Barrett Steel (
www.barrettsteel.com), has been helped onto the first rung of the ladder in international sport-bike racing by sponsorship from the Bradford-based steel stockholder.
This will allow the 22-year-old to take the test for his Auto Cycle Union racing licence in October and then compete in the No Limits Racing 600 Newcomers League next year.
In the next couple of months, his Honda bike will display the green, black and white branding of the Barrett Steel logo.
Liam said: “I’ve been taking part in moto-cross since I was 11, and I have had road bikes for the last two years. I’ve always loved watching the British Superbike racing on TV and at the track, and Barrett’s sponsorship means that
I can now take it to the next level, joining a club and winning more races.
“I’ve always been competitive, with a desire to win. In the future, I want to prove that I’ve been worth the investment.”
James Barrett, managing director of Barrett Steel, said: “We recognise the challenges that Liam will face. With his determination to succeed, we look forward to seeing his progress in the next few years.”
