Ecotech London (
www.ecotechcorp.co.uk), which specialises in recycling PET, has announced that is to increase the capacity of its Rainham (Essex) facility by 30% by the end of the year.
The £750,000 equipment upgrade will include a new grinding machine, a centrifuge and ancillary equipment. It will increase the recycler’s output to more than 16,000 tonnes per annum of hot-washed PET flake.
Chief executive Javed Mawji said: “This is the first phase of our planned expansion. Within 12 months, we intend to install a second washing line that will increase our capacity to more than 24,000 tonnes a year. This follows strong demand for the company’s products since we began production at the end of 2014.”
Ecotech’s recycled PET flakes end up in a number of products, from food trays and sheeting to bottles and polyester fibre.
