Medical-device developer MJS Group recently tripled its floor space by moving from Barton-le-Clay to new 35,000sq ft premises in Luton and subsequently took delivery of an EN 300 plastic injection moulding line from Romi Machines (
www.romiuk.com). The company has increased its turnover by 50% since 2013, thanks to having the right machines to produce its medical mattresses, pressure-sensitive air-beds and cold-therapy devices at the right unit cost.
Managing director Chris Saggers says: “We had a very good experience with the Romi EN 260 that we installed three years ago. That was the first machine that we bought new, and it made sense for us to return to Romi for our latest investment. We use the plastic injection lines to produce the control system units that go with our equipment, and this larger machine allows us to extend our portfolio.”
He adds that Romi was very responsive when a second-hand machine failed, quickly sourcing and installing the EN 300. The two Romi machines now share the load, providing great volume and job flexibility, while having two machines with matching control systems makes it easier for the setters to switch between lines.
