A new awards initiative has been established to recognise and celebrate Britain’s most innovative technology-led engineering collaborations, whether from academia or industry.
Collaborate to Innovate (C2I) combines an awards scheme with a conference that will highlight “Britain’s most inspiring and successful collaborative projects”.
Entries are invited from projects that address engineering challenges across a broad range of areas, including transport, health, energy efficiency and sustainability, information and connectivity, safety, security and the built environment.
The submission deadline is 31 May. An invited team of expert judges will then select short-lists and winners in each category. These will be announced at a VIP reception in London on 19 July.
The finale of the C2I campaign will be a one-day conference on 17 November at the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre in Coventry (pictured). During the day, the winning projects will be presented in detail.
The headline partner for the C2I initiative is the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council, while the advanced-technology sponsor is the High Value Manufacturing Catapult.
The awards and conference are led by The Engineer magazine, which this year celebrates its 160th anniversary. Full details can be found at the Web site (
