Around 30 engineers from the Institute of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) were recently given a tour of Hutchinson Engineering Ltd’s technical operations at its base in Kilrea, Northern Ireland.

The mechanical engineers were given a first-hand insight into the operations of the family-run engineering company, followed by a presentation by managing director Mark Hutchinson.

He said: “It was a pleasure to invite members of the Institute of Mechanical Engineers to Hutchinson Engineering, with some travelling internationally to be here, which reflects very well on the Northern Irish manufacturing industry and its position world-wide.

“We try to maintain very close links with the IMechE. Having this type of visit not only underlines our standing as one of the leading sub-contract laser and metal fabrication companies in Northern Ireland but also helps us communicate our capabilities to respected industry figures. By inviting the best people to tour our facility and take part in a question-and-answer session, we were able to build on our existing knowledge base and pass on some of our experience to industry professionals.”
