The University of Manchester (
www.manchester.ac.uk) is seeking planning permission to build a £350 million engineering campus, including an eight-storey building that would act as the main student hub.
The Manchester Engineering Campus Development (MECD,) on an 8.3-acre site close to the city centre, would bring together the School of Chemical Engineering and Analytical Science, the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, the School of Materials and the School of Mechanical, Aerospace and Civil Engineering.
A spokesman said: “The University of Manchester has embarked on a £1 billion 10-year plan to create a single world-class campus for students, staff and visitors. The first phase of this visionary master-plan includes the MECD.”
