An Indian manufacturer — Bharat Forge Ltd (www.bharatforge.com) — has won a contract from US aerospace giant Boeing to supply four titanium closed-die forgings for the forthcoming 777X, which is a re-designed version of the 777 long-range wide-body twin-engine jet (it will be available in two models, the 777-8X and the 777-9X).

The first forgings will be shipped to Boeing towards the end of this year. Earlier this year, Bharat Forge Ltd began delivering titanium closed-die forgings for Boeing’s 737-Next Generation narrow-body jets.
