Comprising cutters that can be used for shoulder milling, profiling, face milling, slotting, ramping, helical interpolation and circular interpolation, Widia’s Victory Shoulder Mill (VSM) 17 range is now available in the UK from Tamworth-based Industrial Tooling Corporation Ltd (
www.itc-ltd.co.uk).
Widia VSM17 cutter bodies have an integral chip gullet design to facilitate better swarf evacuation; they also have a hardened-steel construction and pocket seats to help resist deformation during cutting.
Furthermore, the cutters offer ramping capability up to 8.8deg with a maximum 16.45mm depth of cut, which is said to help users benefit from improved productivity rates when roughing on low-powered machines.
The VSM17 line is available in a variety of designations that include shell mills, screw-on-type cutters, cylindrical shank and Weldon shank end mills with through-tool coolant functionality.
VSM17 insert geometry includes robust cutting edges, various corner radii and positive rake faces that provide a true 90deg shoulder. Insert grade designations are available for many material types. Starter kits are also available; these include a cutter body and 10 inserts.
