Renishaw, the global engineering technologies company, opened an Additive Manufacturing Solutions Centre in Pune, India, on 15 June (
www.renishaw.com/solutioncentres). Designed to provide cost-effective access to additive-manufacturing machinery, facilities and expertise, so that customers can explore the benefits of AM and quickly build up their confidence in it as a production technology, the new facility is equipped with the latest AM systems and is staffed by knowledgeable engineers.
Renishaw is the UK’s only manufacturer of metal AM machines. The new Solutions Centre is a cornerstone of its ambition to see AM adopted by India’s fast-growing high-technology manufacturing sector.
Rhydian Pountney, the director responsible for Renishaw’s Indian sales and marketing operations, said: “We are delighted to be opening the first Solutions Centre in India, creating a platform on which to work in close partnership with our customers to help them realise the benefits of AM in their products and manufacturing processes.”
Clive Martell, Renishaw’s head of global additive manufacturing, added: “Renishaw’s vision is to make AM a mainstream manufacturing technology that is used in the series production of high-performance parts for aerospace, medical, automotive, oil and gas, mould-and-die and consumer products.
