Magneti Marelli makes suspension systems in China

A new Magneti Marelli (
www.magnetimarelli.com) facility for the production of suspension systems has been opened in Guangzhou, China. The plant, which is located near the Planvim Industrial Park, Nansha District, will also make pedal systems.
The new plant covers an area of 27,000m2, of which over 17,000m2 are devoted to production. When up to full speed, the plant will be able to produce suspension systems for about 220,000 vehicles a year, and pedal systems for about 100,000 vehicles a year.
The plant will start with a team of about 60 employees. Magneti Marelli has been present in China since 1996 with production plants and R&D/Engineering Centres in Shanghai (SAGW powertrain joint venture), Wuhu (automotive lighting and powertrain), Guangzhou (electronic systems, suspension systems and plastic components), Changsha (exhaust systems), Hangzhou (shock absorbers in joint venture with Wanxiang Qianchao Co), Changchun (powertrain in joint venture with FUDI), Hefei (exhaust systems), Foshan (automotive lighting), and Xiaogan in the province of Hubei (a joint venture with CSI Automotive Lighting).
Magneti Marelli has 89 production units, 12 R&D centres and 30 application centres in 19 countries, about 40,500 employees and a turnover of 7.3 billion euros in 2015. The group supplies all the major car manufacturers in Europe, North and South America and the Far East.
