British army deal safe-guards jobs
A deal to supply the British army with armoured vehicles will safeguard hundreds of jobs in south Wales, according to General Dynamics UK. Up to 300 engineers and project managers at the firm’s plant near Caerphilly are developing the vehicles.
General Dynamics UK, which is part of a US group that employs around 95,000 people world-wide, is building four different variants of a new armoured fighting vehicle to replace the ageing SVRT vehicle — and provide troops with more protection and fire-power.
