Weldability-Sif opens training facilityWeldability-Sif (www.weldability-sif.com) has opened a new Foundation Level welder training facility at Tresham College in Corby. The dedicated classroom and workshop was opened by Ian Mawdsley (pictured, left), who is head of the School for Engineering at Tresham, and Adrian Hawkins (right), whois managing director of the Weldability-Sif Foundation Charity.

Mr Hawkins said: “Tresham is one of the first places to open new welder training facilities with help from the charity. Facilities are currently being installed at other colleges around the UK. Welding has a highly skilled role to play in engineering and manufacturing, and it is helping to gain new export business. Foundation Level welder skills training at Tresham is another step towards a full apprenticeship pro-gramme designed to meet the UK’s demand for skilled welders.
