Designed for turning external diameters, the DS-ACH range of tool-holders from Hemel Hempstead-based NTK Cutting
Tools (www.ntkcuttingtools.co.uk) features a patented centre-line height adjustment system that eliminates the centre pip on end faces to provide a constant OD dimension.

The centre-line adjustment system only requires an Allen key to alter the insert height by up to 0.2mm.

Currently, the left-hand-cutting DS-ACH line is available with three tool-holder variants. The first, designated DS-SDU-ACH, comes in 16, 19, 20, 22mm and 1in diameters and offers overall lengths of 75-150mm.

Corresponding with this tool-holder is the DC insert geometry; this features a relief angle of 3deg and two cutting edges.

Complementing the SDU tool-holder is the DS-PTX-ACH. Available in the same diameters, the PTX accommodates triangular insert geometries with a 10deg relief angle.

For more intricate profiling operations, the DS-SVVP-ACH tool-holder uses a two-edged insert with a 72deg relief angle.

All three insert geometries plus corresponding tool-holders are available with a range of grades and coatings for processing different material types.
