Following
Farnborough 2016, Cheltenham-based Stocdon Ltd (
www.stocdon.co.uk) — a tooling and work-holding specialist that focuses on the aerospace, motor-sport, medical and oil and gas industries — will be representing the Italian manufacturer MCM Machining Centres Manufacturing SpA (
www.mcmspa.it/english), to help the company expand its UK sales.
Based in Viglozone, Piacenza, MCM had its highest turnover for 10 years in 2015 — more than 60 million euros. Moreover the company is continuing to expand, adding 2,000m2 of production area to its current 10,500sq m, along with a further 400sq m of office space. This development will also see a 10% increase in the number of staff, which currently stands at 240.
At Farnborough, MCM highlighted its multi-process machining centres, which combine turning milling, grinding and cutting operations in a single machine. At EMO 2015 the company was showing four- and five-axis machining centres; these included an MCM Clock Dynamic five-axis multi-tasking machine undertaking milling, drilling, turning, grinding and power skiving.
