Lasershape £3 million relocation

Lasershape Ltd (www.lasershape.com), a Nottingham-based specialist in sub-contract laser and water-jet cutting, has relocated to larger premises as part of a £3 million investment that has also seen it install new equipment. Previously based at Beeston, about three miles away, the company had reached maximum capacity. Lasershape director Tim Leam said: “We had no space for new machines or new employees, and we had melted the cable in the road twice because we were drawing too much power. We knew that relocation was the only way forward.”

The company found a facility, at Brailsford Way in nearby Chilwell, that was twice the size of its existing factory, and it invested in new machinery that included four Trumpf TruLaser profiling centres and a CNC sheet deburring centre. The new facility also houses sister company Jetblades Engineering, which specialises in water-jet profiling; there is enough space to add another laser cutter (and another water-jet machine), if and when required. To showcase its new facility, Lasershape is hosting an ‘open doors’ event on 13 July.

Be seen in all the right places!
