Newly released by Tamworth-based Industrial Tooling Corporation Ltd (www.itc-ltd.co.uk) is a range of Big Kaiser insert holders for face-grooving operations.

The holders are designed to fit the Big Kaiser large diameter series 318 and 319 SW twin-cutter boring heads.

Available as either a single- or twin-cutter grooving tool for diameters ranging from 53 to 3,000mm, the newly developed face-grooving system offers a grooving depth of up to 12mm, with widths from 2 to 9.5mm.

Using the boring tools as twin cutters with a simultaneous adjustment in radius and length allows the feed rate to be increased, while using the cutters in ‘diameter offset’ operation allows groove widths up to 12mm to be machined.

Moreover, both inside diameters and outside diameters can be adjusted separately; and both cutting edges can be set easily to the same length if required.
