HBM, (www.hbm.com/en) a world leader in the field of testing and measurement, has begun to build a dedicated production and logistics facility at its Darmstadt headquarters in Germany.

Due for completion at the end of 2017, the new centre has a design that reflects the company’s core values: precision, innovation and reliability. To mark the beginning of the project, an HBM time capsule was buried during the foundation stone ceremony.

Containing a load cell, a daily newspaper and a company brochure, the capsule was lowered into the ground by the mayor of Darmstadt, Jochen Partsch.

Karl-Heinz Pohlmann, HBM vice-president (supply chain), said: “By creating 6,000m2 of extra space for production, we will be able to create the pre-requisites for efficient logistics and modern office space with close links to production.”
