Brake manufacturer Surface Transforms, which is based at Ellesmere Port, has reported a “transformative” year, with revenues up by 28%.
The company, which has developed brakes for several high-performance vehicles (including the Porsche GT3 and the Nissan GT-R), recorded revenues of £1.4 million for the year to 31 May. However, its pre-tax losses increased by 18% (to £1.2 million) over the same period.
Meanwhile, Surface Transforms reports that it has made significant progress with automotive OEMs on winning “so-called game-changer contracts”, including signing a pre-production contract with a major German company.
Chairman David Bundred said that the 2015-16 financial year had been transformative for “a number of reasons”.
The company is currently in the process of re-locating from Ellesmere Port to Knowsley.
