The range of turning tools from Wetherby-based TaeguTec UK Ltd (
www.taegutec.com) has been extended with the introduction of V-type turning inserts, which feature the company’s ML chip-breaker.
These RhinoRush inserts are designed for the high-speed turning of steels, stainless steels, hardened steels, grey cast irons, aluminium alloys and high-temperature alloys.
The ML chip-breaker on the V-type inserts is ground specifically to reduce cutting forces and built-up edge, thus enhancing tool life and surface finish; and being based on a ground double-sided negative-type design, these inserts provide a high number of cutting edges.
Furthermore, their sharp-edge design and chip-breaking geometry make the RhinoRush V-type particularly suitable for use on aluminium alloys and high-temperature alloys that have particularly ‘adhesive’ characteristics.
Suitable for machining at depths of cut up to 1.5mm and with cutting speeds beyond 40m/min, the negative 35deg rhombic insert line is currently available with TaeguTec’s PVD-coated TT5080 grade and the uncoated K10 insert grade.
