Industry Minister Jesse Norman visited the
London Boat Show last week and was given a tour of the event, which featured over 300 exhibitors and nearly 400 boats.
He chaired a roundtable meeting with leading industry figures to hear their plans for the future.
After the visit, Mr Norman said: “The maritime sector is an important industry for the UK, adding over £11 billion to the economy; I was delighted to visit the show and see for myself the success of our marine and maritime businesses.
“The UK has a world-class reputation for building high-quality boats, from warships to super-yachts. As we develop a comprehensive industrial strategy, we will continue to work with industries across the UK to further upgrade productivity, create high-skilled jobs, and ensure sustainable economic growth.”
