With its recent takeover of the Polish firm Design Technologies International (DTI), the Haco Group (
www.haco.com), which has its headquarters in Belgium, says it is reinforcing its ranges of heavy-duty machinery.
A Haco spokesman said: “DTI has been designing and manufacturing heavy machinery since it was formed in 1991. By joining forces, we can use our 75 years of combined experience to develop large and precise machines for customers in the railway and energy industries.”
Recent examples of DTI machines include a large lathe for a US Navy shipyard and a twin-bed heavy-duty milling machine for the railway industry.
The lathe (a TV60/960CNC) has a swing over the bed of 1.52m, 24.38m between centres and a maximum component weight of 80 tonnes.
Meanwhile, the FB200 CNC features a 200kW vertical milling head and a 100kW side-milling head: the machine is for high-alloy steels up to 400HB hardness.
In the UK, Haco’s wide range of sheet-metal-working equipment is handled by Kingsland Engineering Co Ltd (
www.kingsland.com), which is part of the Haco Group.
