Medstrom (
www.medstrom.com), a Castle Donington manufacturer of hospital beds, has bought a French rival — MMO International.
Chief executive David Belli said: “The acquisition of a majority stake in MMO means that we can offer NHS and private-sector customers greater choice, service and flexibility than competitors controlled by larger multi-national corporations.
“The acquisition is very positive for both companies, with the Medstrom group now having a wide expertise in product development, manufacturing, sales, service and equipment rental.
“When you add in our growing Italian operation, 2017 will see the group operating directly in four countries — including Ireland — generating annual revenues of over £35 million and employing around 280 people.
“The collaboration opportunities with MMO will add significant value to both companies and ultimately improve the operational efficiency and delivery of patient care for the many health-care providers we serve.
“The investment will also strengthen MMO’s business infrastructure and support the company’s growth strategy in both the French and international markets.”
