After growing by 25% in each of the eight years it has been running, the Made in the Midlands (
www.madeinthemidlands.com) exhibition is moving from the GTG Training Academy in Wolverhampton to the Ricoh Arena’s 6,000m
2 Ericsson Exhibition Hall in Coventry.
This year’s show — on 25 May — will host 200 exhibitors for the first time, and more than 2,000 people from the region’s manufacturing sector are expected to attend.
The event will also welcome a number of leading educational institutions, engaging with local schools and universities to give young people an insight into a career in manufacturing.
Jason Pitt, managing director of Made in the Midlands, said: “In the midst of Brexit, the growth of the exhibition reflects the optimism and drive of the manufacturing sector. Our exhibition is now one of the largest dedicated manufacturing shows in the country.
“The fact that it is so focused on helping manufacturers to foster partnerships with other companies in their field and with their target audience means that many of the exhibitors only attend this show, which gives it a real community feel.”
Andy Gibb, managing director of the Ricoh Arena, said: “The rate at which the Made in the Midlands exhibition has grown is impressive, so we’re delighted to be hosting it for the first time.
“Coventry and Warwickshire has one of the best reputations around when it comes to manufacturing, which will only help the show to go from strength to strength.
“We look forward to working with the event organisers and using our experience of hosting other manufacturing exhibitions to ensure that Made in the Midlands has its best year yet.”
