Rotherham-based MTL Advanced Ltd (
www.mtladv.com) has won an order to supply complex fabrications to a leading rail-industry OEM for use on the Crossrail network in London.
The company is a supplier of Category 1 safety-critical parts such as bolsters, bogie frames, body-shell components and fuel tanks.
MTL says that it has invested more than £8 million over the past two years “to place it at the forefront of contract manufacturing in the UK”.
Located on a 13-hectare site with 300,000ft
2 of manufacturing space, it has a large laser cutting machine with an automated handling system, robotic pressing and welding capabilities, extensive CNC machining capability and a ‘state of the art’ paint facility. It also has clean areas for carrying out assembly work.
MTL will be exhibiting 9-11 May at
Railtex at the NEC, near Birmingham.
