Aberlink Ltd (www.aberlink.com) — now the UK’s largest UK-owned CMM manufacturer — will be demonstrating its new Xtreme CNC co-ordinate measuring machine.
This features a novel non-Cartesian structure, linear motors and mechanical bearings that allow the CMM to maintain its accuracy at very high measurement rates; moreover, it does not suffer from the cumulative inaccuracies that occur in conventional three-axis Cartesian systems.
Aberlink’s best-selling Axiom Too CNC CMM will also be demonstrated. Despite having a ‘generous’ measuring volume, this machine has a relatively small footprint, with the controller and all peripherals housed within its workbench.
The company will also be highlighting the latest version of its inspection software. In addition to accommodating touch-trigger probing and vision measurement, the software allows the extremely accurate and rapid scanning of features and profiles.
The Mk IV software version also delivers enhanced functionality and offers an improved CAD-comparison module and ‘off-line programming from CAD’ capability.
