Plans to extend the Innovation Centre at Daedalus Business Park have been given the go-ahead by Fareham Borough Council.
The extension will provide more than 36,500ft
2 of new floor space, 33 offices, five workshops and parking spaces. It is thought that nearly 300 job opportunities will be created, with a focus on the engineering, aerospace, aviation and marine industries.
Fareham Borough Council executive leader Sean Woodward said: “The extension to the successful Innovation Centre is great news for Daedalus and the Solent Enterprise Zone.
“The existing building exceeded all expectations and reached full occupancy within its first year of opening. There are many businesses that want to use space at the centre, which will enable them to prosper and grow.”
The extension is expected to cost around £6 million and is due to be completed by 2018.
