Rochdale-based Victor CNC Ltd (
www.victorcnc.com) has launched its Vturn-NP16 turning centre, a compact machine with an overall length of 1,488mm, a width of 1,956mm and a height of 1,775mm.
Despite its small foot-print, it has a Z-axis travel of 250mm and a 570mm-diameter swing over the bed. It can turn components up to 260mm diameter.
This slant-bed turning centre has been designed with a chip-disposal system at the rear,to minimise its footprint. Features include a 12-station servo-driven tool turret, along with the option of a C axis and a BMT-45 milling
turret for the single-hit machining of complex components. The 2.2kW motor is complemented by main-spindle power of 11kW.
As standard, the Vturn-NP16 is supplied with a three-step warning light, coolant flush on the Z-axis cover, tool-holders, fully enclosed guarding, a hydraulic 6in chuck with soft jaws and a Fanuc 0i-TF CNC featuring Manual Guide i programming.
Options include a manual tailstock with power quill, manual or automadtic tool pre-setter, parts catcher, oil skimmer, chip conveyor, air-conditioned cabinets, high-pressure coolant,bar-feed interface, air blast, oil-mist collector and automatic doors.
For automated production, Victor CNC can integrate an EWR-03 articulated robot system, which can support parts up to 120mm in diameter with a maximum weight of 3kg.
The EWR-03 offers load/unload times of 7sec. For parts weighing more than 3kg that require automation, Victor CNC can integrate a gantry-type robot system capable of feeding two turning centres with a part change-over time of less than 15sec, including the door open/close cycle.
