Gamet Bearings, the Colchester-based member of the 600 Group plc (www.600uk.com), has established a reputation for the design and manufacture of large-bore taper-roller bearings.

The company works closely with machine tool OEMs to develop precision bearings to match each manufacturer’s bespoke requirements, whether they are for high accuracy, speed, repeatability or long working life.

Gamet recently supplied two Taiwanese machine tool manufacturers — Myday Machinery Inc and Denver Industrial Co Ltd — with bespoke designs of super-precision taper-roller bearings for ‘oil country’ lathes with large spindle bores.

Gamet says that its large-bore bearings set the benchmark with regard to rotational accuracy, load capacity and stiffness.
