Aviation Training International Ltd (ATIL) (
www.atil.co.uk) — a joint venture between Boeing and Leonardo that operates training centres in Hampshire, Berkshire and Suffolk — has recorded a rise in its pre-tax profits as its turnover grew to almost £22 million in 2016.
The company has a 20-year contract with the MoD to provide attack-helicopter training to British Army air crew, ground crew and maintenance personnel. This agreement is due for renewal in September.
In their report accompanying the results, the directors said: “The three training centres continued to meet contracted requirements throughout the year to the satisfaction of the MoD, and ATIL’s rating as a training provider continues to be judged by students at a consistently high level in terms of customer satisfaction.
“The financial position of ATIL remains positive, with adequate resources to meet foreseeable operational requirements. The company’s employment base reduced further during 2016 through a mixture of natural attrition plus some minor planned reductions.”
