JCB has submitted plans for a purpose-built facility to house its demonstration team at a quarry near its global headquarters in Staffordshire.
Kevin Quarry is used by JCB to demonstrate its construction machinery and by Tarmac, which processes aggregates at the site. Under plans filed with Staffordshire County Council, a new headquarters for JCB’s demonstration team is proposed for the south of the site, along with a covered viewing grandstand, new yard areas and a car park.
A planning statement prepared for JCB by Birmingham agency BHP Design said: “The facility will allow customers to see machines working in a truly impressive environment.
“It will inevitably increase machine sales and allow JCB to consider expanding its factory infrastructure elsewhere in the country, creating the potential for new jobs.”
