SoftInWay Inc, which has its headquarters in Burlington, Massachusetts, and Open Mind Technologies AG (www.openmind-tech.com) have announced a co-operation agreement that will see them provide a complete solution for the design, development and manufacture of gas turbine components and other types of turbo machinery.

Both companies provide software platforms that give component developers the tools to “accelerate the product development and production process while maintaining a high level of accuracy”.

SoftInWay’s AxStream software platform, which provides an integrated and streamlined approach to turbo-machinery design, consists of a number of modules — for undertaking preliminary design, ‘meanline and streamline’ analysis, computational fluid dynamics, finite element analysis and blade profiling, as well as rotor design for compressors, pumps and turbines.

These tools are used to produce components that are optimised for speed, power and life. Meanwhile, Open Mind’s software is a modular CAM solution for 2.5-D, 3-D and five-axis machining, as well as mill-turning processes.

Furthermore, multi-blade and single-blade turbo machinery solutions are embedded within HyperMill.

This partnership between SoftInWay and Open Mind brings product, service, sales and technical teams together for a complete software solution. Customers can work with either company to obtain tools, training and services from industry experts.
