Ilkeston-based WFP Fabrications (
wfpfabrications.co.uk) — a waste management fabrications specialist — has won its first overseas export order.
It will supply Mv Xuereb Demolition in Malta with two heavy-duty skips from a brand-new range being launched by the firm.
Managing director Matthew Holmes said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for the company and a great start for the new model that we are manufacturing.
“The reason that Mv Xuereb Demolition came to us to place the order is because there is nobody — to the company’s knowledge — that is manufacturing the heavy-duty waste units in Malta.
“Countries such as Malta require units that are much stronger than the usual bins, because of the quality of the land. There is a lot of rubble and heavy-duty material that needs disposing of.”
The order will be shipped to Mv Xuereb Demolition in Malta later this month. WFP Fabrications is launching the new heavy-duty, rolled-side model following an investment of £15,000 in a new press.
Designed to deal with heavy-duty waste, the new product is a preferred specification for construction companies.
