LS Starrett Co Ltd, Jedburgh (www.starrett.co.uk), has introduced its HDV500 digital video projector.

Developed from the company’s HDV vision system series, the HDV500 combines a large floor-standing horizontal optical projector and a vision metrology system.

It is configured like a traditional horizontal projector with a heavy-duty steel design; like the HDV300 and HDV400 systems, it features a bayonet-style lens mounting system and a high-resolution colour video camera.

Unlike previous models, the HDV500 includes CNC as standard, and it can accommodate loads up to 150kg while
offering a ‘stage’ travel of 500 x 200mm.

All the HDV systems in Starrett’s range include a 64-bit PC, so that CAD files can be directly imported. The PCs run Metlogix M3 metrology software, which offers customised measurement and reporting.

Meanwhile, integrated video edge detection gives operators real-time interaction with the imported file, combined with a video image of the part being inspected.

Furthermore, the HDV500 is available with zoom optics and a choice of three telecentric lens options. This gives micron-level resolution and an optical distortion of as little as 0.002%.
