Hitchin-based Roemheld UK Ltd (
www.roemheld.co.uk) has introduced a new vice for five-axis machining applications.
The Hilma MC-P is said to provide high levels of stability and precision, as well as good accessibility and chip protection.
The vice’s compact design helps ensure collision-free tool paths, while allowing the use of short, standard tools.
The MC-P is designed to accommodate typical first and second operations within a single set-up.
According to Roemheld, it is suitable for clamping long components as well as housings made of cast materials. Both mechanical and hydraulic versions are available.
Jaw widths on the MC-P vice range from 40 to 125mm, with maximum clamping forces of 8 to 35kN. A range of accessories is also available.
