As the name suggests, the Freddy Micro from Pershore-based Freddy Products Ltd (
www.freddy-products.co.uk) is a compact coolant-recycling system that has a 50-litre tank capacity and a 37-litre perforated basket.
Versatile and mobile, the Micro is 670mm long, 430mm wide and 980mm high, while a single-phase 2kW motor offers the option of 240V or 110V power. The motor generates an air-flow of 3,000m3/hr, with a water in-flow of 238 litres/min and an out-flow of 100 litres/min.
Fluid is passed through a filter bag — available with mesh sizes from 1,000µm down to 5µm — to ensure that the Micro captures all machine contaminants.
The Micro is aimed at companies that may be looking to reduce their coolant consumption, prolong fluid life, reduce the health risks associated with poor fluid management and even improve machining performance by eradicating the use of contaminated coolant.
Additional benefits include the potential to reduce fluid-disposal costs, improve tool life and remove harmful contaminants that cause bacterial growth in the machine tool.
The Freddy Micro is supplied with a 38mm hose and a ‘gulper’ tool as standard, with the option to upgrade to a 51mm hose, if required.
