Alderley Park-based Ebb3, a 3-D graphics start-up, has received £1 million in funding from private-equity house Maven Capital Partners (
www.mavencp.com), with the potential for an additional £500,000 of follow-on funding.
Ebb3 (
www.ebb3.com) is a technology services business that provides data-intensive 3-D graphical applications or computer-generated imagery to customers using high-performance virtual computers (HPVCs).
Its products negate the need for businesses to maintain and run traditional fixed-location computer workstations across their organisations.
The funding from Maven will allow Ebb3 to significantly increase the size of its workforce and convert its ‘pipeline’ of opportunities.
Chief executive Mark Vickers said: “We are proud to have secured Maven’s confidence and investment. We were able to demonstrate the benefits of our solutions, which can now be used to help more customers make their business mobile, flexible and streamlined.”
