Award for Faro’s 3-D scanningFaro (www.faro.com) — the 3-D measurement and imaging specialist that opened a new UK Technology Centre in Rugby last year — was named ‘3D scanner company of the year’ at the 2017 3-D Printing Industry Awards. Dave Southam, regional manager (Europe North) at Faro Technologies, said: “Given the standard of our fellow nominees competing for this prestigious award, we were delighted with our success.

Faro scanners are particularly suited to the demands of the 3-D printing industry, and our sales in this exciting global sector continue to grow at a phenomenal rate.

In addition to recently launched ‘state of the art’ scanners satisfying current sector demands, new company developments will ensure that Faro technology keeps pace with the rapidly evolving 3-D printing industry.”

The 3-D Printing Industry Awards saw manufacturers of 3-D printers and scanners, software companies, material providers and designers joined by leading educators from the 3-D printing world.

Michael Petch, editor-in-chief of 3Dprintingindustry.com, said: “With over 800 nominations and more than 2,000 votes, the winners and those nominated by readers for the short-lists are all remarkable enterprises.

“I congratulate Faro on achieving the title ‘3-D scanner company of the year’, in what was a particularly competitive category.”
