Walter’s revamped technology centre Tooling company Walter AG has revamped the technology centre at its headquarters in Tübingen, Germany, to offer customers, partners and staff around the world access to the company’s latest developments and test results, as well as demonstrations of high-technology solutions for machining systems of the future.

The 5,000m2 Walter Technology Center combines ‘interactive experiences’ with a research and development focus where —
for example — the digital factory of the future can become a ‘reality’, with production, logistics, engineering, control and management processes all digitally connected and communicating in real time.

Mirko Merlo, chairman of Walter AG, says: “Customers expect reliable and bespoke processes, and our new centre will allow them to develop the most highly efficient and effective machining processes.

They can create and optimise complex machining processes in a ‘plug and play’ production environment based on the use of Augmented Reality.

Furthermore, Walter staff and distributors will be able to take part in global training sessions in a spacious auditorium that will feature live broadcasts from the nearby production areas.”

Customers can experience Augmented Reality by downloading the Walter AR app (itunes.apple.com/us/app/walter-ar-augmented-reality/id1142516774?mt=8) and scanning the company’s current advertisements for Tiger.tec Gold.
