UK-based Chester Machine Tools (
www.chestermachinetools.com) recently completed a major installation of machinery and accessories for Politeknik Banting in Selangor — a leading Malaysian College.
The equipment for the college’s mechanical engineering department comprised 20 lathes, two turret mills, two universal mills, a heavy-duty surface grinder, bench grinders, pedestal grinders, a range of saws and pillar drills.
The installation is part of an on-going major refit and upgrading of the college’s teaching facilities taking place this year.
Anthony Edwards, Chester’s sales director, said: “We have a long track record of supplying high-quality equipment to engineering colleges throughout South East Asia and this is just one of a number of on-going projects to train the next generation of engineers in the region.”
Politeknik Banting College offers diploma courses in mechanical engineering, engineering design and manufacturing processes — including welding, machining (conventional and CNC) and casting.
