The Haren-based German company Röchling Engineering Plastics (
www.roechling.com) intends (subject to approval by the cartel office) to acquire the plastics processing company Fischer GmbH Kunststoff Präzision), which is based in Laupheim. Fischer specialises in the machining of precision plastic parts, employing more than 150 people at two sites.
With this acquisition, Röchling plans to further expand its machining activities, which currently focus on the machining of thermoplastics and composites at 18 sites.
Röchling CEO Franz Lübbers, who is responsible for the industrial division, said: “The inclusion into Röchling gives Fischer GmbH the opportunity to tap into new sales markets by co-operating with our world-wide machining group’s other locations.
“Fischer will also be able to benefit from our applications and material expertise, and thus offer its customers additional machining possibilities. With the acquisition, Röchling will strengthen its market position in the target industries served by Fischer, as well as regionally — in southern Germany in particular.”
Fischer GmbH belongs to Eriks Holding Deutschland GmbH, which in turn belongs to the Dutch company Eriks NV. Eriks would like to sell Fischer GmbH in order to focus on trading in industrial components, which is its core competency.
